George Fisher Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A Better Place Funeral & Cremation Services on Dec. 10, 2025.
George Kenneth Fisher - "Jorge" - "Georgie Porgie" George Kenneth Fisher was born in Fort Polk, Louisiana, to Betty and Gilbert Fisher, both of whom have passed on. George was 63 when he passed away on November 30, 2025. A true fighter in both spirit and sport, George competed in Golden Gloves Boxing and became one of the Golden Glove champions of the Suite 9 Club Lonowski, Boxing 132-pound class in February of 1983. Outside the ring, he expressed his creativity through music, playing guitar with heart and soul. He was a mechanic, a problem-solver, and a jack-of-all-trades who could fix just about anything. George was a proud grandpa to 16 grandchildren and a man whose love for his family ran deep. He is survived by his children: Alfredo Chavez & Amber Chavez (daughter-in-law), Jeremy Chavez, Cherice Chavez, and Matthew Chavez. He is also survived by his siblings: Natalie Fisher, Elaine Fisher, Cynthia Trevino, Megan Antonio, Marlene Pacheco Fisher Maestas, Wayne & Sandra Fisher - and his additional brothers John Fisher and Anthony Fisher, along with his sister Alyssa Fisher. He is preceded in death by his sister Bonnie. George had the greatest heart - he would give even if he didn't have it. If someone needed help, he found a way. He had the biggest smile, the funniest and naughtiest jokes, and a patience that few possess. He loved football - especially the Broncos - boxing, cars (including his favorites), and most of all, his family. To know George was to know generosity, laughter, and unwavering loyalty. His legacy lives on through every life he touched.
