George Frisch Obituary

George W. Frisch Jr.
Born: April 13, 1945
Died: November 8, 2025
George W. Frisch Jr., passed from this life to the next on November 8, 2025. He was born on April 13, 1945 to parents George and Loyola Frisch in Chicago IL. He attended Queen of All Saints and St. Ann Barrington Schools, Notre Dame High School in Niles, and Loyola University Chicago Class of 1967. While at Notre Dame he was president of the rifle club and a champion sharpshooter.
On June 3, 1967 George married Gail Straub at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Glenview IL. They originally met in 1955 and remained lifelong companions. They were blessed with 5 wonderful children: George (Ellen) of Genoa City, WI; Marie (Scott) of Johnsburg IL; David (Kim) of Lakeland, FL; Sarah (Ryan) of Johnsburg, IL; and Mark (Ariana) of Birnamwood, WI. The Joys of George's life were his 13 grandchildren: Allison, Dylan (Amber), Amy, Jacob, Catherine, Aiden, Bernadette, Lila, Carly, Macy, Arya, Ayla and Calvin. His first great-grandchild is expected in April 2026.
On their last outing together in 1963, George and his father purchased a motorcycle from Maury Gauger in Richmond, beginning George's lifelong pleasure of riding motorcycles. In 1970, George began his 40 year career as State Farm insurance, as a property claim supervisor. He was recognized as a National Arbitrator of the year many times by the Arbitration Forum.
George dedicated himself to the Father's Club at Marian Central Catholic High School when his children began attending. He also served on the schools Executive Council and Council of Administration. Coach Penza passed the torch to George to run the pull tab program, where he was fondly known as "Pull Tab George." He spent thirty years working the bingo program every Thursday, and single-handedly raised millions of dollars for the school. George faithfully attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg for over 50 years, during which time he volunteered and participated in many fundraising drives.
George is survived by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, countless friends and acquaintances who cherish his memory.
George will receive a Catholic funeral and burial at St. John the Baptist Church, 2302 W Church St, Johnsburg, IL on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 12:00pm. Burial to follow. For more information please contact Colonial Funeral Home, 815-385-0063.
