George Garza Obituary
George Garza, age 71, of Toledo, OH, passed away on August 30, 2025, at St. Charles Hospital. He was born on July 3, 1954, in Toledo, to Eloy and Jesusa Garza, who preceded him in death.
A lifelong resident of Toledo, George was a proud graduate of Waite High School. He built his career with CSX Railroad, working as a carpenter and maintenance technician. Known as a jack of all trades, George was always ready with advice and knowledge to share, offering help wherever it was needed.
He was a dedicated fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns, rarely missing a chance to attend a game. He also enjoyed going to the movies. Above all, George was a loving son, brother, uncle and godfather. He was a strong caregiver with a generous heart, always willing to give the shirt off his back.
George was dearly loved by many and will be truly missed. Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Maria (Robert) Hagemann, Rosario Sanchez, Carmelita (Roberto) Martinez, Eloy Garza Jr., Francisca Miller, Gabriel Garza, and Noe (Deborah) Garza; godchildren, Noe Garza II and Katrina Fahle; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 2:00-7:00 p.m., at Walker Funeral Home- Oregon Chapel, 3500 Navarre Ave., with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service for George will be at 9:30 a.m., in the funeral home, on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
