George Gosselin Jr was born to the late George Gosselin Sr and his wife Beryl (Hervieux) in Springfield on April 24,1933. He passed peacefully into eternal life surrounded by the love and comfort of his beloved family. George spent his youth in Springfield, completed his education, and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force. It was there that he learned the trade of printing and chose a career in the newspaper industry. He was a valuable member of the team at the Springfield Newspaper, now the Republican, retiring as the mailing room foreman after close to forty years of service. Family was most important in his life, growing up with nine siblings, he was always there, and his quiet presence meant so much to all. George was a devoted husband for sixty-nine years to Kay. She meant everything to him. In his early years he enjoyed square dancing with his wife, fishing with his children at the cottage using his home-made fly's. He and Kay looked forward to bowling with his team from the Springfield Newspaper, the "Mailers and Bailers". "Later years were spent lovingly tending his small but meaningful rose garden and watching his much-loved Red Sox and Patriots. George was a man of strong faith looking forward to attending his church and the fellowship he found there. His favorite season was Christmas, and he took immense pride in setting up his Christmas Village and tree. George had a kind heart that was equally matched by his stubborn spirit. He was a loving father and grandfather whose presence will be forever missed.

Surviving George is his devoted wife Kay and his loving children, Timothy and his husband Stephen Gonalez, Dianna and her husband Anthony Circosta, and Wendy Gosselin. To treasure his memory, he leaves his adored grandchildren, Anthony Circosta and his partner Jason Tetreault, Adam Circosta, Kaybeth Fortier and her husband Michael and Douglas Forget and his wife Christa. He will be greatly missed by his beloved sisters Lila Johnson and Zella Bailey as well as extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his sisters Janice Biancucci, Lois Mascaro, Grace Worboy, Beryl Matthews and his brothers Robert, Norman, and William Gosselin.

Services will be held privately at the Agawam Funeral Home for his family with a celebration of his life to be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross
