George P. Hanley Sr., 82, of Levittown, passed away on January 29, 2026. Born on November 24, 1943, in Manhattan, raised in Howard Beach, George lived a full and vibrant life rooted in his love for his family, his faith, and his community.

A dedicated public servant, George served with distinction as a police officer for the NYPD. He carried his experiences from "the job" throughout his life, famously captivating friends and family with vivid tales from his days on patrol. His commitment to service extended to his faith as a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, where he lived out the values of charity and fraternity.

Beyond his professional life, George was a passionate fan of the New York Rangers, rarely missing a game and bleeding Broadway Blue. However, his greatest joy was found on the sidelines of his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. Whether he was cheering from the bleachers or offering "coaching" from the sidelines, he was their biggest fan, never missing an opportunity to celebrate their achievements.

George was a devoted husband to his wife, Bea, and a steadfast father and grandfather. He is survived by wife Bea; his two children, George Jr. and Sharon, their spouses, Amy and Dana, his two beloved grandchildren, Madeleine and George III and his three sisters, Ann, Margaret and Sonia. Predeceased by his sister Nancy and brother Carl. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, service, and a life truly well-lived.
