Liturgy of the Word for George Hellman, 61, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. Inurnment will follow at Stevenson Funeral Home Legacy Garden.
Visitation for George will be from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 29th at Stevenson Funeral Home.
George passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023 at his home in Dickinson.
George B. Hellman was born August 24, 1962 in Dickinson, ND to George and Magdalena (Berger) Hellman. He grew up and attended local schools and got his GED. After school he worked trimming trees for several years before he went to work in the oilfield. His time in the oilfield took him to several states throughout the country. Over the last 15 years, George worked at landscaping and trimming trees. He was very skilled at trimming trees and tree removal, even in tight places.
George loved listening to Rock n Roll music and cooking. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, and playing 31. George had a hearty, infectious laugh. He was very generous and always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.
George was a beloved son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him, most especially his loving twin brother and best friend, Gerald.
George is survived by his mother, Magdalena Hellman of Dickinson; daughters, Kassi and Lyndzy Carrizales; son, Michael Carrizales; granddaughter, Madison; siblings, Cecilia Taylor of Dickinson, Clement J. of Dickinson, Gerald (Julie Smith) of Dickinson, Mary (Tim) Raab of Dickinson, Jeanette Hellman of Williston, James (Julie) of Dickinson; special friend, Jeni Carrizales; brother-in-law, Zane Smith; sister-in-law, Alicia Kelly; and nieces and nephews, Jon, Natalie, Stephan, Goddaughter Sarah, Matthew, Elizabeth, Jeraco, Sarah, Evan, Alexandria, Katelyn and Anthony; one grandniece and six grandnephews.
George is preceded in death by his father, George; nephew, Tyler James Hellman; Goddaughter, Madalynn Raab; and brother-in-law, James Taylor.
