I’ll never forget the week of winter break I spent with him, Aunt Francis and Betsy my freshman year in college. I was there ostensibly to help build a loafing shed for the horses. It was for me a unique opportunity to get know him better and years later I recognized in him the same gentleness I experienced when with Nana, my grandmother, his mom. It was a quiet, beautiful peaceful week and I’ll always be grateful for having had that time with him, Aunt Francis, and Betsy.

I always loved going to visit Uncle Addison as a child. He always had such great stories and adventures to share. He was such a kind man. My prayers to Aunt Frances and my cousin, Betsy. May we meet again in the next world.

Although separated by miles, we have stayed close through our regular Sunday afternoon/evening telephone chats. We've had much to talk about and were in agreement about most things, especially our politics. I have enjoyed solving the world's problems with you. I'll miss that, and I'll miss you very much, my brother and dear friend.

I had never met Mr. Hodges, but I heard wonderful tales of him from his daughter, Elizabeth. Anyone who knows those stories knows that this man's life goes beyond the time of his body's presence here. Certainly he is already missed by many, though his legacy lives on. Sincere condolences to Dr. Hodges and all the family.

Uncle Addison had a great laugh and the best sense of humor. I have some memories of Uncle Addison and Aunt Francis with my parents, Frank and Jeanne Hodges. My thoughts are with Aunt Francis and Francis and Betsy
