George Hoffman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 23, 2011.
Racine – George August Hoffman, Sr., 78, was called to his eternal home on Friday, September 23, 2011. George was born in Racine on October 29, 1932 to August and Katherine (nee, Klass) Hoffman. He married the former Patricia Flanigan and celebrated 57 years of marriage this year. George served in the U.S. Navy. He was an Electronics Engineer by trade and the co-founder of Getty's Manufacturing Company and later retired from Incon Systems. Everyone who knew George knows that he was a great listener. He demonstrated patience and kindness to us through his words and actions. He was always very helpful and his love was evident as he did what he enjoyed most, which was spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was admired for his intelligence and was always there to solve your problems and could fix anything. George will be greatly missed by his wife, Patricia "Mickey" Hoffman; children, George A. Hoffman, Jr., Holly (Curt) Spieker, DeeAnn Hoffman and Amy (Randy) Fortel; grandchildren, Andrew (Angela) Spieker, Katie (Josh) Chapman, Adam Spieker, Joshua Hoffman, Lauren (Damon) Farrow and Caleb Hoffman; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Chapman, Zeke Spieker, Jonah Spieker and Addie Chapman; and his brothers, Jim Hoffman and Roger (Veronica "Ronnie") Hoffman; and all of his other relatives and friends who showed love and support with their kindness and prayers. Funeral services for George will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2065 Geneva Street, on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 1 p.m. with Reverend David Gehne officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 12 noon until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or Feed The Children.
