George Davis Jenkins Jr. was born on June 14, 1947, in Cartersville, Georgia to parents George Davis Jenkins Sr. and Inez Potts Jenkins. He passed away at 78 years old on November 17, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma due to complications of COPD and Chronic Cardiac Failure.

He graduated from Jacksonville High School in Florida in 1965. He played semi-pro basketball in Northern Florida and Southern Georgia before he joined the Army in 1969. He stayed in the Army until being discharged in 1972. In 1984, he met Peggy Jenkins. The two of them married in August 1986. After George got discharged, he came to Florida to work in the glass industry. He remained in the glass industry until February 2008.

George was a huge fan of basketball, futuristic movies, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. After retirement, he loved maintaining property in Bristow until his illness prevented him from doing so.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.

George is survived by his wife Peggy of the home, sister Doris Simpson of Dyersburg, Tennessee, children David Lee Evans of Tulsa, Oklahoma, John Mark Evans of Bristow, Oklahoma, Bret Alexander Evans of Bristow, Oklahoma, and Kristie Dawn Martin of Bristow, Oklahoma, his grandchildren Jared Andrew Evans of Texas, Samantha and Trent Beal of Beggs, Oklahoma, and Chelsea Lee-Ann Martin of Brandon Mississippi, five great grandchildren Presley Grace Evans of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Jaxon Evans of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Kristopher James Beal of Beggs, Oklahoma, Corey Michael Beal of Beggs, Oklahoma, and Avery Joseph Beal of Beggs, Oklahoma, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He will be missed by all friends and family.
