George Jordan Obituary

LANCASTER, S.C. - Mr. George Ryon Jordan, 90, of Lancaster passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, at the Union County Hospice House.

He was born Oct. 21, 1934, in Lancaster, a son of the late Ryon Frances Jordan and Avy Baker Jordan. George was a member of Springdell Baptist Church and loved his church dearly. He was chairman of the Deacons, and he had numerous other jobs within the church. George loved to play golf, fish and hunt.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. George Ryon Jordan will be held at noon Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Springdell Baptist Church, with the Rev. Donald Tillman officiating. The burial will be in Westside Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until noon Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Springdell Baptist Church.

Mr. Jordan is survived by his wife, whom he was happily married to for 71 years, Azalee Reynolds Jordan; one son, Wayne Jordan (Lisa) of Lancaster; two brothers, David Jordan (Dianne) of Lancaster and Donald Jordan of Lancaster; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Eugene Jordan; and two sisters, Helen Allen and Mary Francis Jordan.

Memorial contributions may be made to Springdell Baptist Church at 1420 Springdell Church Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
