Posting this now as I just learned of George“s passing. I came to know George while working alongside him at Gerald Olds. He, along with Stu and Harry, were the shop elders. We all respected and looked up to them. George was the Diesel Whisperer. He was a great mentor and friend to me during the years we worked together and after; guiding me in the repair of any light-duty diesel engine scenario I needed help with. George was just an easy, interesting guy to be around, had a quiet strength about him, and told great, animated stories about his encounters in the automotive trade. I will always remember and revere him.

I just learned of his death today from my son, Andy. Not that long ago, I stopped to visit George in his shop and was happy that I took the time to do that. We had a lot in common and I always tried to give him good insurance advice. Take care, buddy...
