George William Letourneau, 89, of Rouses Point, NY passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on November 2, 2025 at UVM-CVPH.

George was born in Plattsburgh on December 2, 1935 to George & Evelyn Letourneau. George was a lifelong resident of Rouses Point. At the age of 17, George left school to join the US Navy where he fought in the Korean War. Upon returning home, George met and married the love of his life, Dolly. The two were married on March 4, 1956, and together built a life and welcomed 5 children.

George spent 42 years working at Grand Union, much of that time serving as the General Manager, until his retirement at 59. George was a long-time member of the American Legion, VFW, Rouses Point Fire Department, and the Knights of Columbus.

George is survived by his children, son George Michael, daughter Leah (companion Jeff), son David, daughter Ann (Junior) Moore, daughter Lisa (Brian) Hynes. He is also survived by grandchildren Emmy, Michelle (Steven) Boufford, Mikey, Ashley (Joe) Wood, Jessica & Sabbatus Francis, Corey (Ashley), Casey (Katie), Katie Moore, Nichole (Eric) Miller, Justin Moore, Jordan Lavalley, Jenna Lavalley, as well as great-grandchildren Anthony, Allyson, Destiny, Daniel, Brianna, Kayla, Ashlyn, Grant, Tessa, Ava, Maci, Mayson, and Jameson. Also surviving are his brothers Billy (Claude), and John (Judy) and 2 sisters-in-law Judy Clark and Margie (Greg) Seguin, as well as several nieces and nephews.

George is predeceased by his loving wife, parents, siblings, in-laws and other family and friends.

A funeral Mass will be held for George at St. Patrick's Church in Rouses Point on Thursday, November 6 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow Mass at St. Patrick's cemetery with full military honors.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 3 at 12:00 PM at the American Legion Post 912 on Pratt Street in Rouses Point to honor the lives of both George and Dolly.

Donations in his honor may be made to the Rouses Point Fire Dept and/or Champlain EMS.
