It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Martinez, lovingly known to many as Popo and G, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was 66 years young and carried his heart on his sleeve. He was the most humble, caring, loving, and loyal man his family had ever known.

George is preceded in death by the love of his life, Rose, his wife of 46 years, we find comfort knowing they are together again in the presence of the Lord. Their love and devotion to one another were a beautiful example to everyone who knew them.

He leaves behind his three children, Susie, George, and Stevie, who were the pride and joy of his life. He was also a proud grandfather to Alyssa, Marc-Anthony, Isaac, Christopher, Marissa, Andrea, and Isaiah, and the delighted great-grandfather of one precious great-granddaughter, Isabella, lovingly known as “Cheetah.”

Being “Popo” was one of his greatest joys. His grandchildren knew that his arms, his advice, and his love were always there for them—no matter what.

To his family, he was everything — the provider, the protector, and the steady foundation they could always rely on. George lived for his family and showed his love through his constant presence, support, and sacrifice.

Though he often described himself as a simple man, those who knew him understood that he was simple but deeply wise. He spoke plainly and honestly, never with judgment, and always with kindness. He believed strongly in grace and forgiveness, and he practiced both throughout his life.

Above all, George loved Jesus with all his heart. His faith guided the way he lived, the way he loved, and the way he treated others. His life reflected humility, compassion, and unwavering devotion to his family and his faith.

George’s smile, gentle spirit, and the love he gave so freely will be deeply missed, but the lessons he taught and the love he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Until we meet again, we will carry your love with us always. Your legacy lives on in your family, and your memory will forever remain in our hearts.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
