George A. (Bud) Matheny, age 85, of Marietta, passed away on November 3, 2025.
George retired after a long career in maintenance with Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Marietta. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alberta (Toot) Matheny, who passed away in 2014.
He is survived by his sister, Shirley Matheny; children, Michael Matheny Sr., Tammy Matheny, and Ronda, wife of Scott Ney; his grandchildren, Michael Matheny, Jr., Justin Halter, Kayla Schlinkman, and Camren Ney; and six cherished great-grandchildren.
George was an avid hunter and fisherman, who loved spending time outdoors and sharing his passion for nature with family and friends. George spent countless hours along the Susquehanna River and cherished his annual fishing trips to Canada with friends. Above all, he loved spending time with his family over dinners and coffee. He will be remembered for his kindness, steady presence, and the love he gave so freely throughout his life.
Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
