My deepest sympathies to all of Fr McLean's family and friends.
I knew Fr McLean for some 40 years, and, in the last 20 years, we worked together closely.
He was a model of a true philosopher - inquiring, humble, open, tireless, insightful, helping others to develop and present their ideas, willing to share what he knew, and, of course, wise.
I know that his work and his legacy will continue. We have been greatly enriched by his time with us, and we are all poorer for his passing.

Rolando M. Gripaldo. Bidding Farewell.

Fr. George F. McLean, you are my greatest mentor and friend in philosophy. I met you in Tehran during an International Conference on Mulla Sadra in 1999 and since then we became friends. You were so nice, accommodating, and patient on us participants during the 2006 Fall Seminar at CUA, Washington, DC. You were more than willing to write the forewords of my books. It pains me so much to learn of your death. You will always be my mentor and friend in my memories. May you rest in peace.

Fr. George,
You are the last of the 3 brothers to leave us. I will always remember you, Fr. Ed and my father Jim laughing and talking about the old days when you were growing up with Mama and Papa! I loved to listen to all the stories. Then after a while the deep discussions about humanity and about what is happening in the world today with the secular movement. You had an incredible life and were extremely blessed to travel the world knowing multiple languages and spreading God's love for all man kind. You touched many people with your soft but determined love. You never stopped working. There will be a huge void in this world. I know you are all together up in heaven laughing and telling stories with our family because your work is done here on earth. God has blessed you and all of us knowing you. Rest in Peace Fr. George, you will be missed!

Father McLean will be terribly missed. He was a man of distinguished humanity. All of us loved him and he will be cherished in our memories forever. For everything he has done for us in life, we owe him our eternal love and the promise we will never forget him. May God grant him peace and the well-deserved rest.

You are my heroe. We sure need you here in this world, but I am sure you can help us more in heaven. We got to see you and talk with you a few days ago. We were so blessed. Well done oh good and faithful servant. Go prepare us all a place. My life is better because I met you.
