George Morgan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Robertson Funeral Directors - Shamrock on Feb. 24, 2026.
George Douglas "SugaBear" "GMoney" Morgan George Douglas Morgan, affectionately known as "SugaBear" and "GMoney," was born on July 11, 1957, in Anderson County to James and Liller Morgan. He departed this life on February 11, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of those who knew him best.

George was raised in Anderson County, where he developed a strong work ethic and deep love for family. He attended Trinity Valley Community College, where he studied auto mechanics, a trade that reflected his natural ability to work with his hands and solve problems. After completing his studies, George moved to Shamrock, Texas, where his grandmother, lovingly known as "Lil Momma," lived. There and throughout his life, he continued building his skills and working hard to support himself and his family. Over the years, George worked as a mechanic, an oil field hand, and a cook. In every role, he was known as dependable, hardworking, and willing to do whatever was needed. He took pride in providing and in doing a job well.

George was a devoted father who took pride in his children. He leaves to cherish his memory his sons George Jr. and Greg; and his stepdaughters Ann and Felecia. He was also blessed with several grandchildren who brought him joy and whose lives carry forward his legacy. He was a member of Washington Chapel Methodist Church, where he found fellowship and community.

George also leaves to mourn his passing his siblings Percy, James and Ronda Morgan, Thea and Alan Martin, Ann, Linda, Leeann and James Ross, Darrell and Shuronda Morgan, Lee Ethel and Norris White, Derrick, and Deshun, along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Liller Morgan; his son, James Morgan; his stepdaughter, Denise; and his siblings Annie and Aaron.

George will be remembered for his strength, his humor, his dedication to his work, and the many lives he touched throughout the years. Whether known as George, SugaBear, or GMoney, he made a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. His legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, family, and all who loved him.
