George E Moss

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of George E. Moss, longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM. George joined the angels on New Year's Day, 2024.

A career Marine, George was highly decorated and served with distinction as a Recon Marine over three tours in the Vietnam War. In his civilian life George was an incredible role model and an exemplary example of servant-leadership. He had a lifelong dedication to volunteer work and a passion for helping young people.

George is survived by his wife Julianne, two daughters Caitlin and Meghan, son-in-law Carlyle and two grandchildren. He will be missed by his family and friends who loved him deeply and enjoyed his advice and colorful anecdotes. He was immensely humble and kind. The world is certainly better because he was here. His memory will forever be a blessing to all who knew him.

So sorry for George's passing! I served with George in London at the Marine Detachment in the 60's. Good man, friend ,and Marine!

It is interesting reading about George's life. My sister and I only had a short period of time with our Father. I am glad after us, that he seems to have had a good life and family.

George, we never met, other than once or twice briefly, on Skype. We 'met' due to Caitlin's time at university in Scotland and the times she visited with us. She often spoke with pride of her dad George. We also spent some time at her home in Santa Ynez, pre-Highland and again, she was happy to raise your name with pride. We also spent a short time with Meghan, when she visited Scotland a few years ago. We shared a few things George - we were born the same year; I spent a couple of years in the Scots Guards and also became a piper. Rest easy! Bill .

I will always remember getting calls from George, asking how I was doing and about my family. He was a pleasure to know and work with as an AYSO volunteer. He was always smiling and talking about his family. I will truly miss George, and only have happy memories of him and his family.
