Although I went to school with George´s kids, I first recall meeting George as the "neighborhood welcoming committee lead"...a lasting impression for sure and from that moment on he took up residence in a special place in my heart. In my early years at the farm, I traveled for work very frequently and George quickly stepped up to serve as my unofficial farmhand and lawn boy often times covering for 2 - 3 weeks at a time. George´s love of Ford Broncos was almost contagious... I´m still not so sure Alice was appreciative of me finding him a deal on a Ford Bronco on eBay in Nebraska. However, the smile on his face when that was delivered was well worth being in her doghouse for a bit...and is a memory I´ll cherish for a lifetime. When George was put in charge of Justin in the summers he quickly brought him into our daily fold of yard work and farm repairs and riding our 4-wheelers. I could go on all day sharing my cherished memories of George over the past 30 years. However, I´ll close in saying that although no one can replace your own father...I sure feel honored to have been able to call him "Pa". I will miss you my friend.

My sincere condolences to the Family of George Nelson, Aunt Alice, Daughters Debbie, Theresa and Son Bud. Not only was George an inspiration to me but to my Family and Many Many Friends. He Serverd his Country with Dignity and was an outstanding Metor to people that truly knew him. He will be greatly missed by all, that were lucky to meet him. His favorite song that he sang at the Dibble reunions karaoke will be something I know, I will always remember.... (Take this job and Shove it)
What a Great Guy my Uncle George was to be around!!!
Prayers To the Family.

I first met George in the spring of 2006 when he drove past my house in his 1972 Ford Bronco. I just happened to have one of my own. I didn't know who he was at the time but a few days later I was driving my truck and saw his Bronco coming towards me. I stopped, flagged him down and we chatted right there on the road. I then visited his house, met his beautiful wife, son Buddy and eventually his daughters. We ended up becoming fast friends all because I was fortunate enough to have seen him drive past in his Bronco. He was a very good man and I know that I am a better person for knowing him. God speed my friend until we meet again....Marcel Mallory
