George Owens Obituary
George was born on December 4, 1950, in Marion County, Kentucky to the late George Owens, Jr. and Grace E. Porter Owens
He was a 1968 Graduate of Lebanon High School in Lebanon, Kentucky and also attended Kentucky State University. In 2005, George concluded his career at Central State Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, earning praise for his compassionate demeanor and remarkable patience. He displayed similar qualities with family members in their final days.
George was also an avid musician, playing lead guitar for local bands as well as filling in for national bands that came to town needing a temporary stand-in.
George is preceded in death by two brothers, Charles S. Owens, and William T. Owens: sister, Grace A. Walker, and his father George Owens, Jr.
George is survived by his mother Grace Porter Owens; (2) Children: his son Raymond Furmon of Lebanon, Kentucky (Mother: Barbara Lee Adams); his Daughter: Terri (Sean)Taylor of Cincinnati, Ohio; (Mother: Jaunice Bell (12) Grandchildren: Kevin Williams, Keith Williams, Kristopher Williams, Kendrick Williams, Kyron Furmon, Tyval Furmon, Chy'Kia Furmon, Willie Edwards, Kaedyn Cowherd, Kylan Edelen, Kyon Furmon, Kyra Cowherd and (11) Great-grandchildren; (1) Sister: Lydia Ann White of Louisville, KY. (2) Brothers: Rev. Dr. Joseph Owens (Elizabeth) of Lexington, KY, and David Lee Owens of Louisville, KY
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Bosley Funeral Home with his brother, Rev. Dr. Joseph Owens officiating. Interment will follow in St. Augustine Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Tuesday at Bosley Funeral Home.
