George Patten Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cartmell-Davis Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc. - Main Office on Dec. 28, 2023.
George O. Patten Jr., age 82 years, of Plymouth, with family by his side, died Tuesday, December 26th, 2023 at Beth Israel – Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. He was the husband of Joanne (Gralton) Patten and the son of George O. and Isabella (Cumming) Patten. Born in Quincy on October 21, 1941, He lived in Plymouth for many of his years. He worked as a Plumber for Local #12, Plumbers and Gasfitters. He was a soccer coach for Boys and Girls teams at both Plymouth high schools as well as several town teams. George was also the long-time Vice President of Plymouth Youth Soccer.
George loved when the family would get together or attending all of his grandchildren's sporting events, concerts, and recitals. He was a lifelong devoted Boston sports fan. George loved to work at crossword puzzles, in his yard and his wife's garden as well as watching wildlife and feeding birds, rabbits, and chipmunks. George was dearly loved and well-respected by everyone he met. A strong, quiet, unselfish, and considerate man who was always willing to help, share his knowledge, experience, and wisdom, or just bring his comforting presence. George had a cool, smooth wit and intelligent sense of humor that could have you laughing long after the punch line was delivered. He was always full of "Grampa Jokes" and quiet "one-liners" too. George was often found working in his garage and was always shadowed by his faithful labs Maggie and Sadie.
Besides his beloved wife Joanne, he will be forever missed by his children Theresa Eby and her husband Matthew of Carver, Sandra Garry and her husband Ralph of Hudson, Timothy Patten and his wife Jane of Quincy, Carolyn Carpenter and her husband Michael of Plymouth, Amy Conso and her longtime partner Justin Pierson of Plymouth and Anthony Conso and his wife Donna of Abington. He leaves his brother William Patten and his wife Mary of Weymouth, his cherished grandchildren Ryan and Benjamin Eby, Collin and Alec Garry, Samantha Patten, Henry and Nora Carpenter, Rily and "J.J." Pierson, Audra, Dakota and Dominic Conso and several nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held in the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 373 Court St, Plymouth (next to Cordage Park). Visitation with the Patten Family will be from 11:00AM – 12:00PM on January 2nd, 2024 with a memorial/prayer service to follow.
