George Phillips, Sr. Obituary
George D. Phillips, Sr., 79 of Lincoln, RI, formerly of North Easton, MA passed away peacefully at home with family after an illness. Born on June 30, 1944 in Boston, MA, George grew up in Cambridge, MA with his beloved mother, Ruby (Vincent) Phillips and older brother Eugene "Gene" Phillips. He graduated from Cambridge High and Latin High School and went on to serve in the Massachusetts National Guard. Throughout high school he was active in sports, and was co-captain of the football team. George was a "Jack of all trades", working the majority of his adult life as an auto mechanic, travel construction foreman, and finally in customer service. George's greatest pleasure was being a father to his six children, Kelly Phillips and husband Ken Watts, George Phillips and wife Maggie, Robin Schreiber and husband Jason, Erin Cisternelli and husband Tony, Jonathan Phillips, and Benjamin Phillips and fiancé Celine Vescera. George was grandfather to Austin, Damian, Andrew, William, Cali, Riley, Skyler, and Kenzleigh. George meant something different to all of his children, but the common thread was his love, devotion, and interest in their well-being. His belief in the "golden rule", not giving up on others, and holding those he loved in the highest regard were constants on which those who loved him depended. George was involved in all aspects of his children's lives from supporting ambitions in academics, music, sports, and scouting to sharing a love of camping, boating, and roller coasters.
George leaves his children and grandchildren, and cherished brother and sister-in-law, Gene Phillips and Gilda Santoro-Phillips. He was predeceased by his mother and granddaughter, Juliet.
The family wishes to thank the team with Hope Health of RI for their tireless care of their father in George's greatest time of need.
Services will be private with the family.
If you would like to honor George, the family requests any donations be made to Hope Health of RI.
