George Plunkett Obituary
February 3, 1942 - November 3, 2025
George Henderlite Plunkett, a resident of Lakewood retirement community for 10.5 years, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025. He was married to Nancy Ruckman Plunkett for 59.5 years and was retired from the Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Board. He is survived by his wife, brother, Roy Wills Plunkett, Jr. and his wife Linda, his nephew, Roy Wills Plunkett, III, and his sister-in-law, Ann Ruckman Smith. Per George's wishes, there will be no memorial service, and his ashes will be spread at David Creek in Bent Creek, Buckingham County, Virginia at a later date.

Please email me when George's ashes are to be spread. I remember Nancy & George had a 'cabin' near the James River where the found solace & joy. I, too, enjoy the river and although I no longer paddle, I've spent may days doing so on the James & other rivers in VA.
