George Joseph Proulx Jr, lovingly known as Chickie or Grampy, passed away on November 9, 2025 after a long illness. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family's love on his terms.
Chickie was born on May 22, 1952, in Manchester, NH, the son of the late, George J. and Beatrice (Chretien) Proulx. He was a resident of Manchester, NH for most of his life.
He has been reunited with the love of his life Ruth (Gresham) Proulx who passed in September 30, 2008.
Chickie lived most of his life in Manchester. He and Ruth enjoyed gardening, music, and family. They created a secret garden in the bustling city, where serenity and peace reigned supreme. When they had no more land to plant on, they found a little slice of Heaven in Croydon NH. Ruth would call it their new palette. Sadly Ruth passed before their new masterpiece was complete. With a broken heart Chickie continued life without his partner.
He found solice in family, music, and nature. His best friend Nadir (his partner in crime), made a major dream come true, when they traveled to New York to a Metallica concert. If Chickie could see one more show, he would undoubtedly choose to see another Ghost Riderz show. His big brother's Marcel's band. The band reminded him how good life is, even with illness and a broken heart. Thank you Ghost Riderz.
Chickie was one of the kindest gentlest souls a person could know. Simple things made him happy, a visit from a friend, a good story, a hot cup of coffee, sunshine on his face, his kitty Bear beside him. Chickie you are already missed.
Members of his family include; his three daughters, Charity Gagnon, Hope Barden, Faith Gagnon, His grandchildren Jessica, Michael, Josilyn and (Jason), Annastasia and (Louis), Victoria, Christopher, Nathaniel and (Jessica), Logan and (Chelsea), and Gwen, great grandchildren, a brother, Marcel Proulx and his wife, Cheryl, 2 sisters, Jeannette Lund, Jeannine Proulx, nephews, a niece, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Peace and Love.
