George Charles Pryor of Fairgrove, age 78, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. He was born on July 2, 1947 at the Caro Hospital to George J. and Glenna G. Pryor. He graduated from Caro High School in 1966, and married Susan L. Adams of Fairgrove in 1968. After attending Elim Bible Institute in Lima, New York, George returned to Tuscola County for the remainder of his years. He worked for a brief time at the Pioneer Sugar factory and the Hydromat Manufacturing plant in Caro before giving the remainder of his working years as the front desk ordering agent for Riecks Auto Parts of Kingston.
George served as a lay leader for thirty-five years at the Kingston Wesleyan Church, teaching Sunday School, leading youth ministries, sharing musical worship, and offering wisdom as a member of the church board. All who knew George were drawn in by his joyful and humble care for them. George’s sincere faith and thoughtful love consistently guided his words and actions inspiring others toward the same. George especially loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In later years, George actively participated in the Watrousville Historical Society and the Fairgrove Methodist Church. He enjoyed Bible study along with genealogical research, spending many hours exploring library histories, census records, and cemetery markers to record his family ancestry in both Michigan and Illinois.
George was preceded in death by his loving wife, three of their infant children, his parents, sisters, Connie and Barbara, and many extended family members. He is survived by his son, George (Linda) Pryor, his daughter Amy (Curtis) Jones; his grandchildren, Makenzie Jones, Andrew (Bailey) Jones, Gwendolyn Pryor, Makayla Jones; his sister, Patricia (Martin) Koss; as well as many loved cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
