George L. Raymond, Jr., a cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on July 11, 1942, in Framingham, MA, George's journey was one marked by dedication, love, and an unwavering commitment to his family and country.
Most of George's childhood was spent in Northboro, with some time spent living in Germany as part of a military family. His young years fostered a strong sense of community and belonging, traits that he carried with him throughout his life. As a young man, he answered the call to serve his nation, proudly wearing the uniform of the United States Air Force. His service was a source of great pride and instilled in him a sense of discipline and respect that would define his character in the years to come.
After his honorable discharge, George began a new chapter at General Motors, where he applied the same principles of hard work and integrity that he had learned in the military. His dedication to his role was evident, and he quickly became a respected figure among his colleagues. George retired from General Motors after many years of loyal service, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and camaraderie. After his retirement from GM, George also worked at Thermo Jarrell Ash for several years.
George's heart belonged to his wife of 59 years, Rita T. Raymond (Landry). Together, they built a life filled with family, friends, and love. Their union was blessed with three wonderful children, Lisa A. Keenan and her husband John T. of Hopedale/Bradenton, FL, Michael G. Raymond and his wife Nora of Harrisville, RI, and Tina M. Raymond and her husband Brian Iarussi of Milford. George's role as a father was one of his greatest joys and he instilled in his children the values of kindness and hard work.
George took pride in his relationship with his brother Robert Raymond and his wife Maryann of Shrewsbury. Their relationship was a source of comfort to him. His role as a grandfather to Amanda Keenan, Alexa Keaney and her husband Collin, Lauren Keenan, Rebecca Raymond, and Jacob Raymond, was one he cherished deeply. George's grandchildren were the light of his life, and he reveled in every opportunity to take them camping, swim in the pool with them, drive them to school or sports practices, or simply sit in the backyard with them sharing stories and creating memories that will be treasured forever.
