George Salamalekis Obituary
George was born to Sofoklis Salamalekis and Angela Perrou Salamalekis on February 24, 1974 in Cleveland Ohio. He grew up and spent most of his life in High Point, graduating from High Point Andrews High School in 1992. George loved the outdoors, cooking, landscaping and most of all his family.
He was preceded in death by his son, George Alexander Salamalekis; brother, Mike Salamalekis father, Sofoklis Salamalekis and grandfather Emmanuel Perrou.
George is survived by his son, Michael Salamalekis; mother Angela Perrou; sisters, Stella Church (Jamie) and Sylvia Hinson; grandmother Sylvia Perrou; and nieces Madison Hinson and Brianna Church and nephew Jamie Church and several family members in Ohio.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials be sent to St. George Greek Orthodox Church at 808 N Hamilton St, High Point, NC 27262.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in High Point. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point.

George was my brother's friend of many years and I got to know him over the years. I once stopped by my brother's house on my 25th birthday and when George found out it was my birthday he descretely slipped me $10. Which was really amazing to me because from previous conversation I knew he was struggling financially at the time and he didn't really have it to give, and he did it descretely so it wouldn't be a show - he wasn't doing it to impress anyone. He just did it because that's who he was. That'll always be the memory I go to when think of George.

George was such a great person. The last time I seen him I was with my daughter and he kept us laughing. I hated to see this. I'm glad you got your wings and now you can rest my friend.
