Hey Serf,

Today, Valentine's Day, is one of those very special and apropos occasions to honor you and your legacy. You've brought such an insurmountable contribution of love into the lives of so many of us, that we are simply blessed knowing that you graced us endlessly with your presence. Your family, colleagues, dear friends, student athletes and just so many more whose lives have been touched over decades of interpersonal relationships with you give humble and heartfelt thanks to you for all that you have given and meant to us. Of course you are and always will be sorely missed, but on this day we also carry very heavy hearts with us on behalf of your grandchildren. We know that Ava, Clara, Rocco and Julia were the apples of your eye and our hearts simply ache for them as we know that the separation anxiety of missing Papi is seemingly so unfair for them to be bearing. We will do our absolute best to continue to provide them with the love and nurturing support that they are so truly worthy and deserving of as they flourish and shine ever so brightly in the development of their young lives.

All the best as you are the best!!!
Frankie

Sorry to hear this sad news. Was lucky enough to be one of those that got to play for Big Serf. So many fond memories. Always with the baseball shorts and cleats, ready to go. He would teach sliding but say, `I don´t slide, I´m old.´ He made baseball so fun for me and I can picture many games and practices to this day. His lessons will be passed down to my kids too and his impact will live on for years and years. All my love to the family on his loss.

Joey and entire Serfass Family: I was so shocked and saddened to read of your Dad's passing. He was a wonderful man and will never forget talking to him about sports. Whether it be baseball or basketball, he touched so many lives in such a positive and caring way. I will never forget watching you develop as a baseball player and your Dad was a great teacher to guide you through your amateur, college and pro career. It was always so enjoyable for me and your Dad to watch you and Larry play for the Capitols. Also, seeing both you and your Dad coach Windsor High to a State Championship. Not enough praises can be said about your Dad, but hang on to those wonderful memories and let them continue to guide you in everything you do. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. RIP Peace George and a job well done.

George was involved with my son Kevin Rival with coaching where he continued playing base baseball for many years. Kevin was friends with his children. We are all grateful for his instruction and caring.

I´ve had the distinct pleasure and privilege to know George for many years having trained him as part of the Connected Board of Approved Baseball Umpires Hartford chapter and having umpires many of the baseball games both he and Joe have coached. George was the epitome of a gentleman and a wonderful coach. In all my years , I never witnessed him raise his voice toward a player or umpire or lose his cool. He was always respectful and I immensely enjoyed discussing our grandchildren during breaks in the action. I considered him a friend and will miss our interaction.
My hearts go out to Joe and the rest of George´s family. Rest in peace my friend.

George my man,
You've touched the lives of an exponential number of us in a way we could only be blessed to enjoy, that being with never ending love and gratitude. Since 2015, when we reconnected for the first time since our Newington High School graduation in 1972, I've never had a better frame of mind about day to day ongoing life. So many of us are in a world of hurt from the turn of events that recently unfolded, yet we know what you would expect from us as a coach to compete and bounce back. All of us will stick together and lean on each other for unwavering support for as long as it takes to right our ship. We may have been flipped on our side, but are absolutely not about to be sunk by any stretch of the imagination. Susan and I have been so accustomed to the Serf nightly phone check-ins @ 10:30pm for 10 years running, that we are pretty much out of sorts for the time being. Although she has only physically seen you just a few times, she has always said that "I feel like I've known George all my life". Certainly the Windsor Warriors Community and countless number of coaching colleagues, players, parents, officials and all whom you've encountered in your baseball and basketball endeavors are honored that you have graced their lives with your presence. Until we get together again, Susan and I are open 24/7 for Joey, Josh, their beautiful brides and most adorable children (Papi's pride and joy) and of course extended family.

Rest comfortably with love,
Frank and Susan
