Deacon George E. Shaw

Deacon George E. Shaw of Tampa, Florida, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Shekinah Glory Cathedral, 402 W. English Street, Plant City, Florida 33563, with Bishop Designate A. D. Shaw, Officiating. Interment will be held on March 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513.

A native of Tampa, Florida, Deacon Shaw was a proud graduate of Middleton High School, Class of 1963, and a distinguished alumnus of Florida A&M University, Class of 1967. He honorably served his country in the United States Army, completing two consecutive tours of duty.

Deacon Shaw dedicated over 40 years of service to CSX Transportation Railroad and was also a successful entrepreneur, owning George Shaw's Bail Bonds Agency for more than 23 years. Passionate about community service, he founded the "Four Gold Legends" organization, established with the vision of providing access to golf for individuals in the blind and Deaf communities.

He was preceded in death by: his son, Charon A. Shaw and nephew, Dennard Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his two sons, Craig A. Rosado Shaw and Bishop A. D. Shaw; his beloved daughter-in-law, Mrs. Michon E. Shaw; his beloved sister, Mrs. Jacqueline Shaw Johnson; brother-in-law, Dr. Herman Johnson; nephew, Solomon Derrick Johnson; niece, Rahlawn K. Johnson and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
