George Paul Shrader, Jr., 86, resident of Brownsville, TX, devoted, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at Sunshine Haven. George was born in Mablevale, Arkansas on October 22, 1938.

George graduated from Sheridan High School in 1956 and joined the Air Force. After Air Traffic Control School, he was assigned to Metz France and after to Cannon AFB in Clovis, NM. In 1960 he accepted an Air Traffic Controller position at Denver, and Longmont, CO where he later retired. He married Ms. Betty Carr (died Sept. 2015). They raised two sons Rodney (Bonnie) from Tullahoma, TN and Tony (Lori) from Longmont, CO. George later married (Guadalupe) Lita Paredes Garcia in April 2017. They resided in Hot Springs Village, AR during the summers and in Brownsville, TX for several years until they decided to make Brownsville their permanent home.

George is survived by his wife Lita, his two sons and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025 with military honors to be held at 5:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service commencing at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services conclude at the end of the evening. His remains will be buried in Tullahoma, TN.
