George was born on June 20, 1941, the son of the late George M. and Elizabeth M. Sinclair. George was raised in Lexington, MA where he met his wife Alberta. George served his country in the Marines and would often tell about his tours of the Mediterranean, Japan, Cubin Missile Crisis and The Gulf of Tonkin. George would talk of the privilege and honor he felt to serve our country. Most importantly he spoke on the education provided to him both during his term and post service. George had a special relationship with and is survived by his military brother, Kenneth Kostielney and his family. Additionally, George was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Lexington, MA.
George has gone to join the love of his life, wife of 57 years, Alberta. George is survived by his four daughters whom he cherished and loved: Grace, Jennifer and her husband Chris Donovan, Denise and her boyfriend Anthony LaMarca, Steffanie and her husband Marc Steeves. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren Hannah, Adam, Moriah, Avanya, Megan, Jacob, and Julia. George is also survived by his six great grandchildren Londyn, Phoenix, Avian, Everly, Sterling, Selah, and baby on the way. He is also survived by his brother Dennis Sinclair, his sister Deborah Tatten and their families. George is survived by his dear friend, (wife of the late Thomas Cunningham, his best friend) Susan Cunningham, (Alberta's best friend), their children, David, John, Beth, Timothy and their families.
Anyone who knew George knew his love for family and his passion for nature, animals, everything mother earth and organic. One of Alberta's favorite memories of George was his compassion displayed in an act of kindness to save a turtle attempting to cross the road. George stopped his car, picked up and placed the turtle out of harm's way. She knew then he was the one for her.
George loved to share his knowledge, often teaching his children how lessons in physics benefited everyday living. George's famous saying, "use your physics, you can do whatever you want". George's most treasured memories were the times visiting his southern grandchildren and the times he was able to spend with his grandchildren at their activities in soccer, lacrosse and swim meets.
As written by his granddaughter Moriah: My Papa is a large part of who I am today. He was skilled in wood craftsmanship, mechanics, gardening and he could speak without speaking. My grandfather has left his legacy in the way I repair, build, self-learn and the way I appreciate the outdoors. He would say, "Every corner you turn is another slice of heaven".
In addition, his granddaughter Avanya shared how special her pappa was stating, he was the father figure in her life with formidable memories. "Papa would take me to soccer practices, listen to me sing and give me pointers while practicing". A favorite memory included Papa teaching her how to fish and make a campfire.
George became a resident of Ossipee NH, living and passing peacefully in what he called his slice of heaven. At the time of his passing Grace observed a hawk calling out loudly directly above his bedroom, circling tightly while soaring ascending up, as if the hawk was carrying away his spirit to be joined again with his wife Alberta.
There will be a Funeral service for Alberta and George at the Community Congregational Church in Billerica, MA at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 where George and Alberta faithfully served their Lord and Savior for 55 years. From the church there will be a Graveside service at the Westview Cemetery in Lexington, MA. After the graveside interment, there will be a gathering back at the church in fellowship hall to celebrate George and Alberta's life.
