PHOTOGRAPH ON TOP George S. Spignesi, 82 years old of North Haven, CT died on December 2, 2025 after a brave battle with cancer. He was born in New Haven, CT to George A. and Jennie (DeLucia) Spignesi. George was predeceased by his high school sweetheart and wife of 40 years Judith (Walters) Spignesi, his son David and his daughter-in-law Lin Spignesi. As a life long resident of North Haven, George was an avid sports enthusiast. From his time spent playing sports in high school to cheering on his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in their athletic activities. One of his favorite pastimes was being out on the golf course. He enjoyed many rounds over the years with his guys. George is survived by his sons George (Sharon), Bob (Lin), and his daughter Cathie (Angel). He also leaves behind his loving partner and companion Diane Griffin, his sister Jo-Ann (Rob) Green, and his brother Tom (Lissa). 'Papa' will be missed by his grandchildren, great grandchildren and many dear friends. The visiting hours will be Friday, Dec. 19th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven on Saturday morning, Dec. 20th at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend a committal service immediately following in the All Saints Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Smilow Cancer Hospital, The American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
