George Louis Stampley, Sr.

December 21, 1939 - January 1, 2026

George Louis Stampley, Sr. departed this earth on January 1, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family and some of the best men of God near his side. He was born December 21, 1939, in the Bunker Hill community, to the late Joseph Lee Stampley and Lucille Bushart Stampley.

Mr. George, known to most as "Bro. George", "PawPaw George", or "PawPaw Candy" was loved by many. He was a faithful member of Ben's Ford Baptist Church.

He leaves behind many loved ones who will all miss him dearly. His eight children, Cindy (James) Bennett; Teresa (late Michael) Voth; Linda (Paul) Sanders; Angela (Raymond) Davis; Donna (Gavin) Mayo; George (Angie) Stampley, Jr.; Tamaca (Jeffrey) Barber; Michael (Lisa) Stampley.

Seventeen Grandchildren: Charlie Marbury, Sean Bennett, Cheri (Jersey) Greene, Jessica Buck, Sonny Voth, Josh (Brooke) Stampley, Tonya (Jerry) Nelson, Christine (Kendall) Boyet, Tim (Abby) Sanders, Amanda (J.D.) Kohnke, Casey (Janaye) Mayo, Brandon (Amber) Stampley, Myranda (Jeremy) Miller, Chloe Barber, Austin (Josie) Stampley, Kaitlynn (Collin) McInnish, and Maya Stampley.

Twenty- Six Great-Grandchildren, Haleigh and Breven Marbury; Destanie (Logan) Carpenter, Justin LeBlanc; Eleana, Annalise, and Madeline Stampley; Ayriana Culpepper, Audrey and Jacen Nelson; Weston, Levi, and Henry Sanders; Caydence, Cayce, and Caylin Spiers, Macy (Chad) Pittman, Hunter (Melanie) Kohnke, Jace Kohnke; Reese, Riley, and River Mayo; McKinzley and Carson Miller; Carter and Camryn McInnish; four Great-Great-Grandchildren: Layton and Wrenleigh Carpenter; Colton Pittman, Ainsley Kohnke. He is also survived by Siblings, Harold Anderson and Carolyn Hicks.

He was preceded in death by his High school sweetheart and wife, Bertha King Stampley; Great-Granddaughter, Adylin Nelson. Also preceding him in death include his Parents: Joseph Lee Stampley and Lucille Bushart Stampley; Grandparents Otha and Lela Williamson; Brothers: Tommy Stampley, Richard Stampley, and Howard Anderson; Sister Mary Nichols.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Ben's Ford Baptist Church at 3:30 P.M. with Bro. Caleb Martin, Bro. Lynn Martin, and Bro. Tim Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Ben's Ford Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Charlie Marbury, Joshua Stampley, Tim Sanders, Casey Mayo, Brandon Stampley, Austin Stampley, Jerry Nelson, Kendall Boyet, JD Kohnke, Jeremy Miller, and Collin McInnish.

A Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon at the church from 1: 00 P.M. until Funeral Service time at 3:30 P.M.
