George Stapledon Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of George "Barry" Stapledon on October 19, 2022, at the age of 86. Predeceased by his parents, George and Eveline and his sister Marian (Desmond). He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Patricia. Loving father to Linda (Peter), Sandra and Steven. Gramps to Jeremy (Charleen), Jake, Lindsay (Engin), Will (Karlie) and Great Grandpa to Owen and Cooper. He will be forever remembered and deeply missed.
Following 33 years in the public service, Barry spent his retirement doing the things he loved most and spending time at the cottage with Pat and his family. Though he was a man of few words, they were often clever, usually funny, and always insightful. Well read and knowledgeable, Barry loved nothing more than a good chat over a cold beer while waiting for a fish to bite. He will be remembered for his wise words and gift of sage advice.
Thanks to the various EMS and hospital workers for their valiant efforts. Barry will be laid to rest at Pinecrest Cemetery, attended by his beloved family. Donations may be made to a charity of choice. Missed, never forgotten, and always in our hearts.
