George Edward Staten, 93, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025. Born April 21, 1932, in New Boston, Ohio, he was the youngest boy of fourteen children of Ruth and Clarence Staten.

George graduated from New Boston High School in 1951 and soon moved to Michigan, where he began working for Excello Corporation. Later that year, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and trained at Camp Roberts, California. Initially assigned to airborne duty, he was later transferred to infantry and served in Korea for one year. After returning home in 1953, George resumed work at Excello and earned a degree in Process & Tool Engineering from Detroit College of Applied Sciences.

George married Jean Borowy in 1955, and together they had four children. Following his divorce in 1985, George married Joyce Chambers in 1987, and Joyce had two children.

He enjoyed a long and successful career with several companies, including General Motors and Lyons Tool, ultimately retiring from Chrysler Corporation.

George was deeply involved in community service through the Masonic Lodge, Shrine Temple and the Order of the Eastern Star. He is a past Worshipful Master, High Priest and Worthy Patron. He dedicated many years to supporting the Shrine Circus, fundraising for Shriners Hospitals, and organizing charitable events.

He is survived by his children Joseph (Candice) Staten, Carol (Glen) Glenn, Lorie (John) Spencer, and Mari (John) Jones; stepchildren Kenneth (Theresa) Chambers and Kimberly Krolikowski; and twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Joyce Staten, his parents, and many siblings.

Services details will be announced in the near future.
