George Richard Sylvester passed away on December 10, 2023, at the age of 91, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Barbara Sylvester, sharing 64 years of unwavering companionship.
Born in Columbus, Ohio and the son of Mary and George Sylvester, George graduated from Bucknell University before dedicating his career as a bonds broker.
Beyond his career, George found joy in golf, relishing every moment on the greens at Champions Golf Club with close friends and his golf group "the thieves".
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, and their children: John, Andrew, and Douglas, along with their spouses, Cary and Gina. George leaves behind cherished grandchildren, Cailin, Cole, and Barbara.
George Richard Sylvester will be remembered for his commitment to family, his passion for golf, and the quiet strength he shared with all who knew him.

Barbara, John, Andrew,& Douglas,
I´m so sorry for the loss of your husband and father. It sounds like George lived a good life with a loving family. It´s never easy losing a loved one. I lost my Dad back in `72 when I was 15. I´m an "old" family friend from your early days in Shaker Hts. Ohio..Dave Gaddis. My parents were Gordon & Nancy Gaddis, my younger brothers Bill & Bob. Anyway, technology being what it is, I have been reaching out to some of Mom´s dear friends to say she had passed back in August from Alzheimer´s . I´m very sorry to do this here in these days of your grief. The first year of holidays and birthdays are the toughest. I do pray that you all have lots of Happy Memories to carry you through this time. Much love to you all. I´m attaching pictures of most of our family with Mom a year or two back. I´d love to hear back from your family, but I understand that this is an inappropriate and difficult time.
