George Thomas Obituary
George F. Thomas, Sr., 84, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Bowling Green Health and Rehab.
George had a lifelong love of sports, both as a fan and a player. He especially cherished the time spent playing golf with his son, creating lasting memories on the course together.
Survivors include his son, George F. Thomas, Jr. (Mildred); grandson, Zachary T. Thomas (Britney); three great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Newsome, Nancy Johnson, and Mary Elizabeth Wine; and brother, John Cold Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Ellen Thomas; father, Charlie Thomas; mother, Mary Carter Morgan; and brother, Charles Carter.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A private interment will take place in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA.
