Sumter, SC George Frank Waninger, age 67, beloved husband of 41 years to Frances Ann Waninger, died on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey.
He was born on July 19, 1957, the son of the late George Andrew Waninger and Muriel Maines Waninger.
George served 4 years in the United States Airforce and then moved on to working at Porters fabrication for some years. He loved fishing, craft beers, western movies, and country music. He sometimes brewed his own beers. He loved his grandbabies so much. He was a loving Pop of 3 and spent a lot of time with them. He also loved his 2 dogs, Buddy and Molly. George taught his 2 sons how to work on cars and many life lessons growing up. He will be remembered for his loving heart and his jokester personality. He was also a stubborn, free spirited, loving man. He will be extremely missed.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons George Adam Waninger and Jeremy Frank Waninger and his wife Libby Mireles Waninger, his daughter, Jesssica Rene Pohl and her husband James Pohl. His grandchildren, Connor Drew Waninger (9 years old), Reyna Nikole Waninger (5 years old), and Mazie Taylor Waninger (8 months old), and his sister Lorraine Baker.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank Maines and Stella Maines.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the Bullock Funeral home Chapel.
The family will receive friends, one hour prior to the service on Sunday, September 29, 2024, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Bullock Funeral Home.
