George Henry Warriner

George Warriner, born in Morris, Illinois, passed away from a heart attack on January 12, 2025, in Austin, Texas.
George earned a BS from the University of Illinois at Chicago then an MBA from Kennesaw State University. Professionally, George was known mostly for his work in designing, building, and managing power plants which led to him visiting 23 different countries. He influenced the industry by serving on a variety of government and private panels.
While in college, George needed a tutor and found Joy Steffes, the woman he would later marry. In personal moments, he would talk about how smart and tough she was both in dealing with her disabilities and a husband whose job often involved extended traveling. They remained together for fifty-five years until her death in 2024.
He was a proud father of his son Jim and Jim's wife, Kara, often sharing stories of their accomplishments and travels.
A memorial service will be held at Palm Valley Lutheran Church (Round Rock, TX) on February 15, 2025, at 11am.
