George Franklin West passed away on October12, 2025, in Shoshone Idaho. George was born to Eugene Clement West, and Cecelia Olive (Signor) West in Boyds, Washington.
George spent his early years of education in Orient, Washington. Even after moving to Priest River, Idaho, the family would often make trips back to visit this side of Washington. George graduated in 1968 from Priest River, Idaho. Shortly after he graduated, George joined the army.
George West married the love of his life, Roberta Elmes on September 30, 1972. George and Roberta remained married for fifty-three years.
George loved to hun, fish, camp, and spend time with his family. He was known to be a jokester and had a great sense of humor.
George is preceded in death by his father, Eugene West, mother, Cecelia West, brother, William (also know as "Sam") , Dennis, Harvey, and Linda.
He is survived by wife, Roberta West, brother, Butch West, nephew, Clay Bear West, Autumn Star, (Twister) Kiowa Spring, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory in Colville, Washington. The graveside service will follow at the Pia Mission Cemetery in Kettle Falls, Washington located on Gallaher-Barret Road.
