George H. White, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on June 7, 2025, at the age of 90. He was born on February 18, 1935 and enjoyed a fulfilling life marked by his unwavering dedication to family, community, and service.

George spent a significant portion of his career at Gulf Alliance Refinery, where he contributed his skills and knowledge beginning in 1971 until his retirement. His commitment to excellence was matched only by his dedication to his community as a longtime member of Gretna United Methodist Church, where he actively participated and fostered connections with fellow congregants.George proudly served in the United States Coast Guard, an experience that instilled in him a profound sense of duty and camaraderie. He cherished the values of service and community throughout his life, often sharing stories of his military experiences with those around him.

He is survived by his loving daughter Mary Plaisance and her husband Keith, as well as his son Stephen White and his wife Angela. George was grandfather to Julia and Katie White and Cortney Plaisance Donewar and great-grandfather to Brody Donewar. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by many relatives and friends whom he loved.

George was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ann Zeller White, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Gussie Lee White, and his sister Bea.His legacy of love, strength, and community service will endure in the hearts of all who knew him. The family will hold visitation on June 13, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Gretna United Methodist Church, located at 1309 Whitney Ave., Terrytown, LA. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, with burial taking place at Westlawn Memorial Park at 1:00 PM.

As we remember George White, we honor a life well-lived and a spirit that will forever resonate in the memories of his family and friends.
