George Wolfe Obituary

October 6, 1939 - March 22, 2026 George F. Wolfe passed away on March 22, 2026, at the age of 86 in Somerton, Arizona. Born on October 6, 1939 in Lakeview MI to George and Margaret Wolfe. After attending Yuma High, George dedicated a decade of his life to the US Navy from 1958 to 1968, serving with honor and distinction. Following his military service, he embarked on a longstanding career as an electrician with IBEW Local 569, from which he retired in 2004 after 36 years. He reenlisted into the US Air Force in 1989 and retired in 1999.

George was a fan of football, fishing, traveling, and camping. He also had a great love for John Wayne movies and enjoyed savoring a glass of bourbon.

He is survived by his daughter Tammy Wolfe; son George Wolfe Jr. (Barbara); daughters Leta Wolfe and Diane Uonites (Russ); stepson Kevin Minke (Kim); and grandchildren Jaclyn, Jonathan, Dallas (Ryan), Joshua (Samantha), Bailey, Nicolas and his Great Grandchildren Michael and Benjamin; siblings: JoAnn Richards, John Wolfe (Lois), Robert Wolfe (Bonnie), Ruth Garrard, and Jim Wolfe (Brenda). George was predeceased by his beloved wife Leta Wolfe; parents George and Margaret Wolfe; parents-in-law Jerome and Vera Kreutzer; brothers-in-law Kenneth Garrard and Dwight Richards; and Carol Wolfe, the mother of his children.

George Wolfe's life was marked by his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his commitment to his profession. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be from 5pm-8pm on April 8th at Yuma Mortuary.

Funeral will be at 10am on April 9th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Desert Lawn Cemetery.
