George Robert Yates
George Robert Yates was born December 8, 1949 to Shelby Lee and Gennie Mae Yates. He grew up in Indianola, Mississippi and later married Beverly Yates. They had five children: Soul Yates, Beverly Anderson, (who is married to their son in law, Sheldon Anderson), George Yates, Lora Gunther (who is engaged to Anthony), andJustus Yates. They have 10 grandchildren.
He later married Adrienne Yates, then to Jackie Black. Deacon Yates was a member of Morgan Memorial Chapel, Church of God in Christ in Colorado Springs, CO 80905.
Beyond his Deacon duties, he was the leader of the Young People Willing Workers (YPWW) bible study. He's driven the Church van bringing individuals and families to and from the Church. He also served as the groundskeeper and custodian for
years.
He held Pastor Morgan very dear and near to his heart and worked as an aide to Pastor. But it was never a chore for him
because he treasured time with Pastor Morgan. He also served as a driver for the pastor.
He attended business school at Georgia Tech., Remington College and worked in a career position with Ampex, contracted
to the Department of Defense. They developed video training systems and media for all military training. Later as an
entrepreneur, he started Mileima Financial Services, Mileima Window Cleaning. He expanded into car detailing. He has
worked in insurance with American General and operated a joint business with his brother John Yates. They co-owned the Soul
City Gift shop, selling African art, figurines and operated as an entrepreneur in several multi-level marketing businesses.
George enjoyed Church, Family, fishing, good food, movies, going skating as he'd watch everyone in his family skate and
gave his thumbs up. He didn't brave the wheels on the skating floor.
The family would like to thank Ms. Tanya and the Angelus staff for a beautiful Service and they would like to thank everyone
who was able to attend in person, or by stream.

Yates, his siblings: Francis Small, Mozella Williams, John Yates, Geneva Shields, Emma Cook, Sarah Yates and Harold Yates and his grandson, Jonathan Houston.
