Georgia M. Clanton, a beloved mother, grandmother, and devoted woman of faith, was born on April 10, 1943, to the late Walter Lee and Jessie Mae Hicks. She was the youngest of two daughters, with Minnie Lee Winfrey, preceding her in death. Georgia dedicated many years of her life to caring for others. She retired after many years of service as a healthcare provider, including owning and operating her own personal care home. She lived a life grounded in love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family and her faith.
Georgia was a faithful member of Bethel Community Apostolic Church, where she found great joy in worship, fellowship, and service. Her strong spiritual foundation guided her throughout her life and served as an inspiration to all who knew her.
She was united in marriage to her husband, James Joseph Clanton Sr., and together they built a loving family rooted in love and care.. Georgia was the proud mother of eight children: Ardriane Denise Johnson, Sheila Pledger, Danny Clanton, Dwenda Everson (David), Gail Cummings, Karen Walker (Christian), Terry Prince (Betty), and James Clanton Jr., who preceded her in death.
Georgia also leaves to cherish her memory 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Georgia will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and the love she so freely gave to her family and friends. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, extended family, and all those whose lives she touched.
