Georgia Stevens-Williams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hanner Funeral Service on Feb. 2, 2026.
Georgia Ruth Stevens-Williams, age 66, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Saturday, January 31, 2026, at home, surrounded by family and friends. She was born February 17, 1959, in Vivian, Louisiana but lived most of her life in Atlanta, Texas.

Georgia was a strong, independent woman who took pride in taking care of herself and her family. She loved Jesus, her family and singing Southern Gospel Music. She sang at her church and in a Southern Gospel band with Doyle Stevens. Christy Lane's song "One Day at a Time" was a family favorite. Georgia lived long enough to see one of her greatest prayers answered, she got to see her daughter Kristy find freedom from addiction and stand on her own two feet. For this her family is deeply grateful and considers it one of the greatest blessings of her life.

Georgia's life shined brightest when she was singing for the Lord and loving her family. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her son, Tony Michael Stevens; parents, Jimmy Lee Scott and Pansey Helt; her brother, Russell Scott; and by other beloved family members.

She is survived by her loving husband, Carrel Williams; her former husband and still best friend, Doyle Stevens; daughter, Kristy Stevens; granddaughter, Amber Burton; grandson, Jeffrey Burton; great-grandsons, Kaysen and Hudsen Burton; brothers, David Scott and wife Priscilla, Jimmy Lee Scott and wife Maggie, Henry Williams and wife Suzanne; and a host of nieces, nephews and special family friends, Stephanie Ennis, Emily Adams, Ray Calloway and son Jeremy, and Cassandra Carr.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Cass County Cowboy Church with Bro. Todd Elliot and Bro. Eric Cunningham officiating.

Visitation will be 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, before the service.

Interment will be in Stevens Cemetery, Mira, Louisiana.
