Georgia Estalee Teague

Georgia Estalee McElrath Teague, 100, of Clyde, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026.

A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Hattie Ledford McElrath. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sherrill Lee Teague; her son, Sherrill Lee Teague Jr.; her brothers, Ammons McElrath, Wilson McElrath, Geter McElrath and Johnny McElrath; her sisters, Eva Arrington, Mindy Price, Leona Rathbone and Betty McElrath; and her daughter in-law Linda Teague.

A former worker of American Enka, and later worked for the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Georgia was a devoted mother who dedicated her life to her family and her faith. She was a member of Belmont Baptist Church and a former member of White Oak Baptist Church; she touched many lives through her role as a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed spending time and traveling with her Golden Girls- Evelyn Cooper, Helen Clampitt, Sandra Ferguson and Charles.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sharon Morris (Jerry), Charles Teague Sr. (Mary Ann), and Jake Teague; her grandchildren, Charles Morris, Charles Teague Jr. (Pam), Jeffrey Teague, and Doyle Teague; her great grandchildren, Samuel Morris (Sarah), Patrick Morris, Samantha Sherrill, Lucas Teague, Jaizminn Teague, Kassie Teague, and Nick Teague; and her great-great grandchildren, Meadow, Paige, Blake, Damien, Nadia, Bruce, Maddox, Mason, Morgan, Josie, Adelynn, and Andreya.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at White Oak Baptist Church with Pastor Kenny Banks, Pastor Gary Putnam and Pastor Josh Fields officiating. The family will receive friends the night prior on Monday, February 9, 2026 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Smoky Mountain Cremations and Funeral Service. Burial will follow the services at White Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a thank you to Dr. Michael Brown and his staff, the Fines Creek First Responders, and to all the friends and family that have stayed and helped care for Georgia.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Teague, Lucas Teague, Doyle Teague, Charles Teague Jr., Samuel Morris, and Trey Sherrill. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Charles Higgins, Robert Taylor, Steve Donaldson, Gary McElrath, Terry McElrath, Robert Arrington, Paul Arrington, Dean Rathbone, and Ted Rathbone.
