Georgia Wright Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jansen Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Dec. 6, 2025.
Georgia Lynne Wright, affectionately known as Gigi by her loved ones, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, in Lapeer, Michigan. Born on July 2, 1961, in Battle Creek, Michigan, Gigi's vibrant spirit and loving nature touched the lives of all who knew her.
Gigi's life was one of joyous dedication to her family, friends, and passions. She is survived by her son, Andrew (Rebecca) Mitchell, her adored grandson, Colin Mitchell, and her cherished great-granddaughter, Marcella Mae Mitchell. Gigi's loving presence will also be deeply missed by her sister, Debbie (Kevin) Ohlrogge, her nieces and nephews, Kerry Dale Jackson, Jeff Sizemore, Jen Susan, Greg Sizemore, and Anthony Raimondo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Claire (Mikielski) Scherman, and her sister, Anne Marie Sizemore.
Gigi's love for country music was a constant rhythm in her life, and she shared this passion with others as a line dancing instructor. Her pets, her dog Star and her parrot Chief, were her constant companions, bringing her joy and laughter every day. An avid lover of nature, Gigi found solace in the beauty of hummingbirds and the songs of birds, which she cherished in her peaceful surroundings.
Known for her culinary skills, Gigi was a wonderful cook. Her home was a welcoming place where friends and family gathered to share stories and laughter.
Gigi's love for jigsaw puzzles was more than a pastime; it was a reflection of her patience and attention to detail.
Those who knew Gigi will remember her as a loving and spirited soul, with a touch of strictness that only served to show how deeply she cared. Her guidance and love have left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends.
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Gigi's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville. Share memories, condolences, and pictures with the family at www.jansenfuneralhome.com.
