Georgie Smith Meadows, age 85 of Gordon County, GA, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at AdventHealth Gordon.
Georgie was born on May 11, 1938 in Calhoun, GA, daughter of the late Hugh Smith and Nillie McDougle Smith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Varner Neal Meadows. Prior to her retirement Georgie worked for the Gordon County Board of Education for over 13 years. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. Georgie enjoyed quilting, gardening and being outdoors. Most of all she loved spending her time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Georgie is survived by: four children, Debbie Thomas and her husband Dennis, Jason Meadows and his wife Christy, Tim Hall and his wife Keeva, and Ginger Hyde and her husband Bobby; eight grandchildren, Crystal Rickett Payne, Jamie Rickett, Jeremy Hall, Bobby Burnett, Rick Burnett, Georgiana Grace Crutcher, Kalee Touhy, and Jacy Meadows; one brother, Robert Smith and his wife Martha; and several great-grandchildren also survive.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 23, 2023 from 11 AM until 1 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 2 PM at Union Grove Baptist Church with Reverend David Baker and Reverend Joel Alexander officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers serving are Hunter Payne, Hunter Touhy, Bleu Rickett, Kyle Dyer, Jeremy Hall, Bobby Burnett, and Jamie Rickett.
