Gerald Baker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mid-Wisconsin Cremation Society - Schofield on Mar. 26, 2026.
Gerald Baker, born August 25, 1951, to the late Edward and Delores (Wolf) Baker, passed away leaving behind a legacy of hard work, devotion to family, and appreciation for life's simple pleasures.

In August 1971, Gerald enlisted in the United States Army and served in Korea. He dedicated himself to his country with honor and pride until his discharge in May 1978.

In January 1984, Gerald married the love of his life, Cynthia Rusch. Together, they built a life centered on love, companionship, faith, and quiet joys. Gerald was a mechanic by trade and had a natural talent for working on anything with an engine. He loved tinkering in the garage, always finding satisfaction in fixing and building with his hands.

Outside of his work, Gerald found happiness in gardening, hunting with his children, taking peaceful rides in the country with Cynthia, and relaxing at home watching his favorite Westerns and Animal Planet. He was a simple man who found true contentment in the little things in life.

Above all, Gerald cherished his family. Nothing meant more to him than spending time with his grandchildren, especially attending their sporting events and cheering them on with pride. His steady presence and quiet support will be deeply missed.

Gerald retired from Kolbe & Kolbe, where he dedicated over 30 years of service.

He is survived by his children, Dayna (Lucas) Rodemeier, Kyle Baker, and Joshua (fiancée Anne Morales) Diaz; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his sister, Cheryl Lippert; his brothers, Larry, Gary, and Jimmy (Mary) Baker; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cynthia; his parents; his granddaughter, Byanka; and his brother-in-law, Wayne Lippert.

Gerald will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of family, and the gentle, steady way he lived his life.
