Gerald E. Blatt, Sr. of West Melbourne Florida, passed away on February 18, 2026 after a long battle with cancer at age 77. Born in Lancaster Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Morris and Claudia Blatt. He is survived by his daughter Theresa Blatt (wife of Jessica Brant) York, Pennsylvania, brother, Richard Blatt (husband of Jeanne Tibbetts) Mays Landing, New Jersey, sister Joyce Blatt Guth (wife of Raymond Guth) Mohnton, Pennsylvania and sister Nancy Blatt Rutter (wife of Ken Rutter) Ladysmith, Wisconsin. Nephews include Shawn Blatt (husband of Amy Blake) Rochester, New York, Eric Guth of Etters, Pennsylvania, Ryan Guth of Mohnton, Pennsylvania and nieces Kimberly Blatt Reeves of Mays Landing, New Jersey and Cara Guth (wife of Cole Dreier) San Diego, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Claudia Blatt; brother Robert "Bobby" Blatt; his son Gerald E. Blatt, Jr. "Jerry" or beloved family nickname "little Jerry" and wife Patricia Blatt.
He will be missed by many people and neighbors Donnie, Jill, Lexi, Bill and Diane who were like family to him. He was a proud US Navy Veteran and a member of the VFW, Amvets and American Legion Post 81.
You've gained your Sea Legs back now Dad and may you rest in peace.
His celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the William Childs Hospice House or any of the locations he was a member of.

Gerald, you stand relieved from your watch. A job well done fellow navy veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to begin, ending a successful career as a nation´s defender. Smooth sailing shipmate.
