Gerald D. Cox, 68, of Madison, KS passed away May 25, 2025.
He was born March 31, 1957, in Emporia, KS, the son of Walter G. Cox and Patricia Bullock Cox. Gerry graduated from Reading High School, where he excelled at several sports, including football, baseball, and track & field. He worked for several years at Wolf Creek Nuclear Plant. Gerry was an avid KU fan and an even greater fan of his many nieces and nephews. He always made time to attend their various activities and planned many of his own to spend quality time together.
Survivors include his two sisters, Carla (Dan) Thurston of Madison, KS and Glenda (Charles) Loomis of Emporia, KS; nephews, Brandon Cox, Bruce Cox, Cody Thurston, and Shannon Loomis; and nieces, Shawna Loomis and Shayna Cortina.
Gerry was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Terry Cox and Brent Cox.
Cremation is planned and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
